When it comes to profiles of a photographer, the fact that you’re always the one taking pictures means there are never any of you!

A Brief History

I started taking photos when I was in High School. My aunt was a yearbook and English teacher then. She saw in me the love of tech and the attention to detail necessary for good photographs. She bought me my first camera and my life changed forever. It was a very natural fit for me. While I loved film, however, I hated the wait. The darkroom was an amazing place, but with a busy life, school and a job, I didn’t have much time. When the photos were finally developed, I had forgot all about them. This took some of the joy out of the yearbook and the small local newpaper I took photos for. Digital photography was new and not ready for anything more than computers.

In 2008 my daughter was born and film just wasn’t good enough any longer. I wanted to see the photos now. I had already begun scanning my film photos, so I was excited to step over to fully digital. The Digital Single Lens Reflex (dSLR) was coming into its own and finally I could afford one! I immersed myself in the digital workflow. I worked with a partner for few years doing senior portraits, events and the occational wedding. At some point I needed to focus on my career and family more so photography became more of a hobby for me and I only did major work for family and friends. Today, my family is maturing, my career is solid and since 2022, I have been enjoying working with other families and organizations to capture their special moments in time.
